Case managers need to have an understanding of foundational rehabilitation strategies that enable them to coordinate services for clients with cognitive and functional limitations or disabilities, as well as substance use disorder.  With this knowledge, case managers can develop client-centered approaches that enhance independence, improve quality of life, and promote efficient transitions through various rehabilitation settings.
