Meet the Instructors
Anne is a Past President of the Case Management Society of America and was one of the original authors of the American Nurses Credentialing Center book, Case Management Review and Resource Manual. Anne has lectured nationally and internationally on case management, patient advocacy, and care coordination. She currently writes a healthcare Blog, Nurse Advocate.
Barbara Kuritz, RN BS LHCA, CCM, has held various roles in health care for over 30 years.
Barbara’s focus has been on case management, education, and leadership. She has published articles on Case Management in Case in Point. Barbara is a past MidAtlantic Chapter President of Case Management Society of America.
Laura Ostrowsky, RN, CCM, MUP, holds a Master’s Degree in Health Planning and Policy from Hunter College. She has been a CMSA member since 2005 and has served on the Board of Directors of the NYC Chapter of CMSA since 2011, and CMSA National from 2016-2018. In 2012 she was CMSA Case Manager of the Year. Laura has over 40 years of health care experience, including time as a staff nurse, QA Coordinator, Director of UR and QA, followed by directorships in CM at New York Presbyterian (NYP), and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She is currently writing, teaching and consulting on all things Case Management.
Laura has published articles on Case Management in CMSA Today, Professional Case Management, Case in Point, The Patient Flow Journal and other periodicals. She regularly presents at national conferences including CMSA, the Patient Advocate Institute and others on topics ranging from case management, patient flow, and payer provider collaboration to advocacy, collaborative practice and case management’s role in the changing health care environment.
Carol King, MSN, RN-BC, has been certified in ANCC Nurse Case Management since 2001. She has worked in managed care, inpatient rehabilitation, & acute care settings. She recently retired from full-time work and provides consulting through King RN Patient Advocates, focusing on various aspects of patient advocacy and CM education/training. She earned a BSN from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA and an MSN in Nursing Administration from ASU in Tempe, AZ.
Carol is very involved with the Case Management Society of America (CMSA), previously serving on the national board. She currently serves on the Arizona chapter board. She is active in the area of Public Policy and co-chaired a CMSA national Multi-State Licensure Task Force for 3 years.
